THE PAGE FOR LEAGUE CADETS

The Basics for League Cadets:

1. All league cadets need to do coursework at home and pass a 25 question quiz administered at drill to get promoted.

2. They must have a minimum time served in each rate before moving to the next higher rate. A minimum of 4 months in grade, until they get to Petty Officer then it becomes 6 months.

3. A Physical Readiness Test (PRT) is required to advance.

4. Trainings are not a requirement for advancement but do help with leadership and experience.

All new League Cadets enter the NLCC as an E-1 (Recruit or “R”); detailed requirements for advancement are outlined below.

Each course includes a syllabus, questions and an assignment in which the leaguer provides their answers on the correct ANSWER SHEET for the coursework.

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED EACH PART OF YOUR COURSEWORK:

email ANSWER SHEET ONLY to TSCalifornia125@gmail.com

ONLY FULLY COMPLETED COURSEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED. When Part I is completed submit the coursework answer sheet, study your questions/study guide and prepare for the quiz at drill.

YOU CAN WORK AHEAD. You do not need to wait 4 months to start the next coursework. If you have turned in Part I and completed the quiz start working on Part II.

Parents, please try and let your League Cadet find the answers themselves, before attempting to do the coursework for them! You should help them on Part I to figure out how to do it.  Each syllabus is an open book, they should be able to find the answers themselves.

Make sure that the number of questions on the coursework is the same amount as the bubble squares.  Some may contain 5 questions and some may contain 9. DO NOT USE THE CADET ANSWER SHEET, or you will have to copy the answers onto the correct coursework answer sheet.

DO NOT WORK ON THE BMR UNLESS ALL LEAGUE CADET COURSEWORK IS COMPLETED AND YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION FROM LTJG C. KELLEHER.

  • DIRECTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE BMR are on the Cadet Advancement & Coursework tab.
